How to Purge Your Pesky Clients

Let’s be honest here (we’re all friends):

You have some clients you want to purge.

You'd rather not work with them.

They bring in 20% of the revenue and create 80% of your stress. In fact, your blood pressure rises just by seeing their name.

But --

You can't get rid of a client when there's not another on the waiting list to fill that spot.

It's a bit of a pickle.

Actually, it's not.

Before we get into how to solve this situation, I want to talk about why you're in this situation in the first place.

Like many successful solopreneurs, you've been relying on referrals to get your best clients.

These leads come to you half-baked, already warmed up, and ready to purchase. That "know, trust, like" factor is embedded, and god, you love that.

However, the flow of referrals is unpredictable, uncontrollable, and unsteady.

Some months, you have an influx of new leads. Other months, the flow dries up completely. Which is havoc for your revenue goals and desire to grow.

You have no control.

Which creates a stress-tumor in your stomach.

Because, on the other side of your agency, is an influx of costs that are predictable, consistent, and reliable.

Every month a certain amount of money goes out the door to pay for contractors, employees, expenses, and your paycheck.

That amount is figured down to the dollar.

Occasionally it shifts, but rarely.

And that imbalance between the financial input and output is stressful.

Because you can't control the financial input.

Instead, you rely on outside factors -- i.e., referrals -- to get your best clients.

So you seek to find balance between this financial input and output by doing content marketing, posting constantly on LinkedIn and Instagram, dancing your bum off for TikTok videos.

Organic traffic converts well.

They trust you more than if they came from an ad, but results are slow to trickle in. Especially in this current economy where leads are taking 6-12 months to convert from the moment of first contact.

So, let's go back to this situation...

You've got a few pesky clients you'd rather not be working with.

Deep down, it's clear that if you got rid of them, you'd have the capacity -- both in terms of your staff, and your energy and emotions -- to sign new clients who are better fits in terms of personality, budget, and projects.

But letting go of those pesky clients is freaking scary.

Are you destined to just have to work with those pesky clients?

Nope.

You use my two systems: Cambium and The WARM Client Method to get new clients. The clients you want to work with.

These new clients come in two ways:

1) Slow Burn (and sustainable)

And you tap into the referral partnerships that exist all around you that you can't see right now, using WARM cold emails to unlock those partnerships.

So an endless flow of warmed-up leads pour into your business now and forever.

2) Fast Burn (and immediate)

Pitch the people who have the problem you solve, and make sure those folks are in Problem-Aware or Solution-Aware stages. So they’re ready to rock ‘n’ roll and actively looking for a solution to their problem.

Enter: a new client.

And now you can let those pesky clients go, confident that those empty slots on your roster will be filled with right-fit clients.

Bonus:

That stress-knot in your stomach melts away because you don't have to rely on external situations to magically align, so a referral comes into your doors at the right time, with the right budget and project in hand.

Instead, you have a flow of those referrals coming in your doors every day, self-selecting to work with you, doused in the "know, trust, like" factor, and convinced you're the one to help them.
